On signing with TNA:
We had contact soon after my elimination [from Tough Enough]. I was told to continue training and the time was going to come, and the time came. I knew for a long time this was going to happen, but I didn’t know how they were going to present Gabi and how they were going to transition Gabi into Raquel. You’re going to have to watch Impact Wrestling to find out, but, you know, it’s awesome. I’m very happy. It’s amazing to accomplish my goals, but I have to tell you that the hard work has just started, because I’m going to have to work really hard to get going and get myself out there.
On her character in TNA:
I don’t have a say in anything. They have someone that writes the story, and his name is David Lagana. He decides most of the things with the Impact Wrestling crew. They’re actually shooting for the right direction, because it’s right up my alley. Everything that they’re doing is my personality and the way I portray myself, so they’re really good with that. And to be honest, how can I control something that’s so big, you know what I mean? I’m very new to the business. I’m not comfortable to say anything. I totally trust their decisions and everything else.
On training since Tough Enough:
Well, life has changed a lot. I used to live in Connecticut, and since Tough Enough, which stayed in Orlando, we went home a couple of times just to visit doctors and stuff like that. Moving down here is a big change. Going to the Wild Samoan school is a huge thing in my life, because there I learned how to work as a team and not just myself. Everything that I have done in the past was just about me, myself and I. In fitness competitions I've always competed against other people, but in wrestling you have to work together. And since I enrolled to this school, I have to say that I've bettered myself. I've learned a lot from them. It’s great. Being an only child, I've never really had the opportunity to work with a lot of people like I do now.
On the vignettes leading to her debut:
It’s going to get better. Here’s the thing, it’s just a tease. It’s a little bit every week until we get to the big part. I think this makes the character even bigger because if you give it all out at once, you’re like ‘Ugh, that’s it?’ Everything in my life, I believe you have to work for. This is for my fans; you guys are going to have to work to see the whole Raquel. Keep watching.
On her goals for 2016:
This is the beginning of my career. The goal, obviously, is to succeed and get better and bigger every single day. My Twitter is going crazy. People are like, when is your in-ring debut? It’s coming. Don’t worry, it’s coming.
