We, as fans, watched a maturation of some of the best in the business that no one had ever heard of. They weren't brought in as Heavyweight Title contenders but as X Division participants. TNA has been widely considered, at least in the past, as having one of the best Tag Divisions in pro wrestling history. Many of those teams were X Division athletes. MCMG, Lethal/Dutt, Lethal Consequences, Styles/Daniels, Bad Influence, Triple X. History has shown that when the X division is being featured, the rest of TNA flourishes. Many of the talent I've named, and forgotten, became more because of the X division. Five former TNA World Heaveyweight Champions made a name for themselves in the X Division. Joe, Young, Styles are all Grand Slam Champions and made a name for themselves in the X Division. The recently retired Kurt Angle has stated that he came to TNA to compete with the AJ Styles' and Samoa Joe's of the world. The division is more than a spot fest and lack of mic skills as many claim it to be. It is, potentially, the life blood of the company. It can help create more stars. It can be viewed as TNA's in-house developmental. They have shown that it is possible to create stars and mold talent. Make compelling storylines. And, ultimately, stand apart for the competition. I want a revival of the X division so the future of the business and the company I love to watch can be on display NOW.
