Eli Drake opened the first briefcase to reveal a KOTM Title shot. From what I have gathered, the contents of Eli's case isn't the same as what it should be. If you look, you will see that all the briefcases have the black numbers to the left of the handle. This was the case when Eli originally grabbed it and during the backstage segment with Jessie. However, during the reveal, the number was crooked on the other side of the case while everybody else's remained on the left side. Eli switched the number with Grado's case.
My guess is that this leads to a storyline where Grado or TNA find out Eli screwed Grado and somehow the decision is reversed. My hope is that while Grado comes back, Eli isn't sent packing. He is such a good raw talent who should remain with TNA for years to come.
James Storm grabbed the tag title case. The stuff between him and Bobby was hilarious. One of my issues last year was that Bobby Roode was getting stale being the serious character. He is so much more likable along with James Storm. Their joke about the World Title never getting between them was funny. I could see this setting up a match with the Wolves. Hopefully, Beer Money cashes it in at Slammiversary (at the earliest) as that is a match you should be saving for your big PPV.
Drew Galloway grabbed the World Title case. It seems he might be sidetracked with a feud with Mike Bennett, who interrupted the segment. This is a perfect feud for both as its a way to prove Bennett as a player and will give Galloway something to do while the other heavyweight title feuds play out.
* The other main story of the show was that between Matt and Jeff Hardy. With EC3 out this week, Jeff Hardy was the hero to go to. He was disgusted by Matt's actions last week, felt he was being manipulated by Reby and challenged Matt to a match. Matt underwent a new look with shorter hair. He comes off as a much better heel this way as he is VERY unlikable along with his wife.
When it came down to match time, I like that it wasn't Matt who was responsible for taking out Jeff. He looks as slimy just walking away while his brother was being assaulted though. The attack writes Jeff Hardy out of the UK Tour while also building to Jeff Hardy vs Eric Young for when he gets back. Its a nice placeholder feud for Jeff Hardy.
*The segment and match with the Decay was handled perfectly. Rosemary is incredibly creepy and mixing her with Crazzy Steve is a good choice. I love Steve's new look as it is very much like Heath Ledger's Joker while Rosemary is like Harley Quinn. Abyss still doesn't look intimidating but I am willing to overlook that. The Decay is a perfect feud for the Wolves right now while Beer Money is busy with Bram/EY.
The Wolves looked to have won the match when Rosemary came out with the tag titles. Davey Richards eventually got misted by Steve and then by Rosemary while Abyss took out Steve. I love this team of the Decay as I can't remember something so dark and uncomfortable appearing on national wrestling in recent memory. Kudos to TNA for getting Marilyn Manson's "The Nobodies" as the Decay's theme as it fits them perfectly.
*Awesome Kong squashed Velvet Sky. From how the announcers were presenting things, Velvet Sky would be written out of TV. Unfortunately, Awesome Kong's days in TNA may be numbered as she went after Reby Hardy backstage during the UK Tour. No matter the issue you have with someone, you have to remain a professional. Unfortunately, Kong has a history of going after people backstage. This is a sad circumstance as Kong has new life with her character. I hope this gets worked out but you have to prepare for the worst. Nonetheless, TNA needs new KO blood now.
