My idea is something I proposed a few times this past year. My idea is to turn PPVs into "Bell to Bell" specials airing on Pop/Challenge/Fight Network/Sony Six. Ideally, Lockdown, Slammiversary and Bound For Glory would be Live, 3-hour shows that would get a good amount of build and would have a unique atmosphere about them.
Lucha Underground and NXT have shown that you can do PPV specials on TV with their Ultima Lucha and Takeover specials. I honestly believe that TNA would benefit from doing this as well. Right now, their audience is small so their base of buyer's won't be significant either. This approach would allow the most eyes to watch the shows as possible. The TV Networks would benefit as arguably they would draw interest and pop a rating (as they did in 2014).
What about other PPV commitments? Use One Night Only to fill commitments to PPV companies. TNA can use this opportunity to make these shows stand out more. They already have a couple of annual concepts in Joker's Wild, Xtravaganza, Knockouts Knockdown, Gutcheck and World Cup of Wrestling. These themed shows should be treated as important. They also should be taped much closer to their airdate so they feel relevant.
I feel its time to shake up TNA's business model. Switching from the traditional PPV format to "Bell to Bell" specials would be a way to do that.
