THIS IS MY HIGHLY TALKATIVE EPISODE OF IMPACT-
ALSO REMEMBER I DON’T WRITE PROMOS, I WILL GIVE A JIST AND THEN USE YOUR IMAGINATION. I FEEL THE CHARACTER/WRESTLER SHOULD ALWAYS CREATE THEIR OWN PROMOS AFTER GETTING THE IDEA AND RUNNING WITH IT, NOT WHAT THE WWE DOES WITH THEIR TALENTS, THAT RUINS A LOT.
TNA World Champion EC3 comes the ring talks about the Jokers Wild series right now. He states that the winner of the series will face him at one of the two biggest events of the entire year in the entire world not just in wrestling.
EC3 then says that he will be the champion at Slammiversary, and he will leave Slammiversary as champion. But, just because someone is the # 1 contender at Slammiversary does not make them the number one contender now or up until the show. EC3 says that he is the ass kicking machine and he will be damned if he has no asses to kick over the next two months.
EC3 says that he will continue to remain active as champion but before that he and Jeff Hardy have business to take care of. EC3 makes fun of the team Thug Life and the Matt Hardy Brand and says that tonight they are taking one step closer to their common goal. Jeff Hardy comes out to basically back up what EC3 says then mentions Eli Drake and Matt Hardy being on his radar after that.
The Matt Hardy brand interrupts and continue with the same kind of routine that happens in every one of these kind of segments. Matt says he still has a legal team working on this and that he will get his rematch. They begin to brawl with EC3 and Jeff and get the upper hand at 4 on 2 until The Pope leaves the booth and helps EC3 and Jeff Hardy clear them out.

EY scream Bram doesn’t have a career to walk away from, and that if EY couldn’t beat Bram he’d never show his face again in TNA, and that’s a real loss unlike Bram.

I explained the Veda Scott finish
I explained the writing off of Melendez & Grado
Jokers Wild: every single drawing I made was an actual random drawing except I intentionally paired the Hardyz together. Even Galloway & Lashley together was unintentional
The Jokers Wild redemption match was the four guys not used on Sacrifice because the number of teams left on the roster did not provide enough wrestlers for a second round to work.
The Matt Hardy lawyer segment is to essentially make Hardy look like he is lying about it to try and get a rematch with no justification. However, as a second option if TNA does sign Veda Scott then she will step into this role.
Veda Scott is someone I hope gets signed, if she does then she will be a lawyer who also gets herself on the roster but uses Matt Hardy as a way to get a discussion with Dixie. She will then become a KO and a valet and her first client will likely be Mr. M80 and I also think Tigre Uno would benefit from the heel turn and mouthpiece.
Gradually introducing changes
I wrote a long list of changes to be made to create an alternative many columns ago. What I am doing is gradually implementing these changes into the product to not only explain where they come from but also because using them all at once is just too much like hitting a reset button.
Rematch clause- This is step one in the process. What this does is another way to prevent so many rematches and make fights or matches have a much bigger feel. Big payoffs and paydays benefit from this. If we get a new champion at Slammiversary or BFG (hopefully other PPV’s next year) fans know they won’t see the same match again two nights later. Some matches will have a rematch shortly after that but not all the time. Again, it’s going to be similar to the UFC in a lot of ways.
One Night Only- Not only am I trying to promote the shows to help gain product but I’m also trying to tie it in to the product. The Knockout’s Knowckdown show is being used to TV, but Jokers Wild was basically too late. The JW series I am using on here was an idea I had planned for a long time but had to alter it due to the roster getting that much smaller. It’s a bit of a disaster as I would have liked to start it earlier but also Jokers Wild is supposed to be unpredictable.
Lots of interference & Eddie chewing out Earl Hebner- This is not Eddie Edwards turning heel. The issue with Earl Hebner and the abundance of interference is actually being used as a way to lead to one of my changes in order to do things completely different than WWE or anywhere else.
Jade- I wanted to have a couple of heels that were so damn good and hateable they do not have to cheat to win. Roode & EC3 were those options as heels but now they aren’t an option. I decided to possibly do this with a Knockout too and it may be Jade which is why I had her beat Gail clean.
Shots taken at the WWE- Anyone ever watch ECW? When I originally wrote out some changes to be made, the WWE was not attempting to do what they did back in the territory days nor did I expect them to do so. My solution and feelings (really since the AJ Styles debacle in January) was for TNA to grow a pair of balls like ECW and to fight the WWE back for once instead of kissing their ass. This shows confidence in the roster and the product as well as trying to pull some influence away from WWE and gain some with TNA. It also does what needs to be done and continues to say that the TNA talent is the superior roster in the industry. It’s no longer the case but TNA still needs to act like it is.
I also whole heartedly believe that if you have a voice that reaches a solid amount of people that the majority of the people listening will believe that voice, especially if they hear it enough. It only takes a small number to buy into it and tell others before they start to believe it. Using ECW again, Joey Styles would always out over ECW and how what you saw on Monday Nights couldn’t compare to what you see in ECW. It was believable because it was convincing and the ECW product was also a visibly alternative product. If TNA were to become a real alternative (like it will gradually become again in my fantasy booking series) then this becomes more believable.
Back to ECW, they did get a lot of world class talents but most of them left for WWF or WCW but they did hold on to a few like Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn. They also had a lot of very good talents who never got the push they deserved or were never used properly or given real chances like Shane Douglas, Chris Candido, Bam Bam Bigelow and others, but the truth is for the most part a very large portion of their roster was not very good. The Sandman was not a very good wrestler at all yet was a multiple time world champion, it was believable, and it never mattered because of two reasons: the outstanding booking and the way the talents were portrayed as being loyal and also bad ass enough that WWF and WCW may not be able to hang with them. Truthfully, in a lot of ways the original ECW roster was one of my all time favorites because of the way they were portrayed. TNA absolutely needs to do this. The category of Shane Douglas, Bigelow, Candido, etc. really resembles guys like Drew Galloway, Lashley, Eli Drake and others.
The other example of telling your audience about how something is great when it isn’t but they still buy into it is the WWE. Around 2011 and WrestleMania 27 is when I really got sick of the WWE. I heard Michael Cole say that Dolph Ziggler was something along the lines of the reincarnation of Mr. Perfect. I was flabbergasted, and thought nobody would believe it…wrong! WrestleMania 27 had Triple H vs Undertaker, it stunk. Yet, for about one solid year after that Michael Cole and others told us almost every week that it was a classic, it wasn’t but people started buying into it. I watched one episode of RAW (well about half of one that was mainly fast forwarded the whole time). I stopped to watch Lesnar come to the ring to confront either Undertaker or Triple H. I listened to JBL talk about Lesnar’s MMA career and as an MMA fan was blown away at the lies that were told by JBL, this wasn’t opinions, these were lies that a simple Google search would prove to be a lie…yet I have seen all over the IWC that a lot of WWE fans who don’t watch MMA believed every word of it.
So if Josh Matthews were to take some pot shots at WWE once or twice a month or say why TNA is superior to the other shows what’s the harm? It’s not going to damage their company. If wrestlers like Eli Drake or Bram make comments about WWE or NXT in a promo then what’s the harm? It makes the wrestlers themselves look better and stronger. TNA needs to make waves and make them fast. The only thing that would be said that I do not believe is that TNA has the best roster in wrestling. But, if they actually grew business wise and signed some legitimate top Indy stars then it could be possible again.
Videos & promos in bottom corner of the screen- I’ve been petitioning for this to happen for quite some time now. Anyone who grew up or was around watching the WWF in the late 80’s and early 90’s before RAW would see that during matches, wrestlers would have promos on the bottom right hand side of the screen about their opponent or the division on TV, etc. If TNA is struggling to get everyone involved, this can allow wrestlers in all division to get screen and promo time, allow them to get over, build feuds, and explain matches for those who complain about “random matches.”
James Storm/Your thoughts?
This is why I previously chose a booking team from this site and chose some consultants. One consultant I chose was The Count who would have been hired for normal booking and creative work but I feel I needed him in some other positions. It was Count who said that TNA should have had Storm turn on Roode in the final Bobby Roode match in TNA as a set up all along who then goes on to kiss up to Galloway who see’s right through it. I never thought about turning Storm heel until he said that. Obviously, Galloway isn’t my champion right now, he doesn’t even have the briefcase. But, I am using the turning on Roode suggestion.
I am having trouble figuring out what I want to do with him, so here are my options. I’m asking for your feedback from readers as to what you all like best:
- James Storm returns to the same character he was with The Revolution and says the devil cannot be trusted, and it was a huge plan to pay Roode back after all of these years
- Storm returns to the same character he was with The Revolution but also reveals that he has been behind The Decay the entire team continuing his influence on Abyss from The Revolution.
- Storm stays as the Tennessee Cowboy character during his heel turn
- Storm becomes the first real tweener. He will talk about how he set Roode up because what Roode did to him did too much damage to his career and he’s been unable to become champion again and it eats him alive. Storm would discuss his love of TNA but how he’s been disrespected and held back for years and now he is on his own and out for himself. He will state that he will get what is his and will not be used to put others over. Storm will say that he will put a stop to any new fad or next big thing TNA wants to push over him whether the fans like that wrestler or if the fans hate that wrestler. He would be the one who really “stands up for wrestling” because people like him are wrestling.
