Beer Money defeated Bram and Eric Young in Six Sides of Steel. Good physical match. All four guys worked their butts off and used the cage to beat the crap out of each other. Also, the Boozer Cruiser Cam was a nice touch.
EC3 talked about his match with Matt Hardy and then brought out Rockstar Spud. The two shook hands before Matt Hardy interrupted and talked trash. Good promo to hype the main event. I liked the continuity from last week with Spud and EC3 now officially allies again. Looking forward to an intense war later tonight.
Trevor Lee defeated Tigre Uno in Six Sides of Steel to retain the X Division Title. Very fun match. Tigre did an awesome leap off the top of the cage to a huge pop. These guys have been in a nice program over the last month, but Trevor is definitely the right guy to help re-energize the X Division moving forward. Good stuff.
Jimmy Havoc cut a promo backstage about Rosemary being his old girlfriend and making him a better man. Havoc gave her a gift before Crazzy Steve walked up and laughed. Hmm, that was both weird and intriguing at the same time. I kinda like this backstory for Havoc; it gives him a purpose for the UK tour and a potential long-term story if he gets signed.
Madison Rayne was shown laid out backstage. Gail Kim and Maria had a brief exchange where Gail invited Maria to step up and take Madison's place.
The Dollhouse defeated Gail Kim, Velvet Sky and Maria in a Lethal Lockdown match when Jade pinned Gail. Maria pretended to get in the cage but locked the door instead. Good match. Not only was it an intense brawl with weapons, but they progressed some key stories here. Gail and Maria have their issues, Jade is likely the number one contender, and Madison will be looking for revenge. I'd say this was very well done for the first ever Knockouts Lethal Lockdown.
Kurt Angle and Lashley had a heated confrontation to hype their upcoming match. Well, it seems Lashley is developing more of an attitude these days. He's becoming more confident on the mic and starting to refresh his character a bit. I expect Lashley to go over Angle in his final match and likely turn heel in the process.
Odarg The Great defeated Eli Drake in Six Sides of Steel. Not bad for what it was. Eli said a great line about fatties in singlets and dominated most of the match. It doesn't bother me that Odarg/Grado won, because Grado was technically fired, so Eli can say it didn't count.
Matt Hardy defeated EC3 in Six Sides of Steel to retain the World Title. Spud turned on EC3, allowing Matt to escape the cage. Awesome match. The announcers told a great story about whether or not Matt Hardy could beat EC3 on his own. Plus, the aftermath with Spud killing EC3 with the chair was certainly memorable after all that talk about "doing the right thing." There's gonna be hell to pay for Spud next week, that's for sure.
Overall, this was a fun night of wrestling. I also enjoyed the vignettes, backstage segments and storyline developments. The London crowd was electric as everybody worked hard to deliver a great performance. Big thumbs up!
