As of now, it doesn't feel like GFW has much momentum going on as it has yet to announce a TV deal. With that said, there are a number of interesting matchups that could be provided if TNA and GFW had a partnership more similar to what Ring of Honor and New Japan have. Hell, GFW looks to be using Bobby Roode and TJP so why not run collaborative events.
TNA is taping a number of events in early January. On January 9th, they will be taping a One Night Only event. I feel an interesting theme for that event would be an annual TNA vs GFW Supershow. It would be a heavily competitive relationship between two companies.
If you look at GFW, their roster structure is very similar to TNA's. They have a Heavyweight Division, a Women's Division, a Tag Team Division and a division for the more extreme athletes. They also use a six-sided ring. A number of current GFW wrestlers have a history in TNA. As we learned from the storyline earlier this year, that creates interesting context for matches.
GFW has wrestlers such as Nick Aldis, Chris the Adonis, Sonjay Dutt, the Bollywood Boys, Christie Von Eerie, Mickie James, Kongo Kong and others that they can pit against the stars of TNA.
Its time to stop relying on tired methods and look for alternative approaches to growing a brand. TNA could have that with a partnership/relationship with Global Force Wrestling.
