Kurt Angle is a legend. He is a former Olympic Gold Medalist. He has won World Titles all over the globe. He is one of the most gifted wrestlers in the history of professional wrestling. After a lengthy career, Kurt Angle's TNA career will be coming to an end on the Maximum Impact Tour on January 29-31.
Its hard to believe that after almost a decade, the legend that is Kurt Angle will no longer be an active wrestler in TNA. He is taking a break from wrestling. Nobody knows if he will ever return to TNA or wrestling for that matter.
With that said, there are a number of matches I would still like to see happen on Kurt Angle's farewell tour AKA "Kurt Angle's Last Stand."
Drew Galloway- The Leonidas of TNA is one of the guys TNA should be building around. He should be a future World Heavyweight Champion, hopefully in 2016. One way to help elevate him to that position is by having him face Kurt Angle in the UK in Kurt's final match. I know that they could have a very good match.
Bram- Speaking of the UK Tour, I would like to see Kurt face the "Chesterfield Plague." This clearly would not be a classic match since Bram is more of a brawler. I could see Bram wanting to end the career of Kurt so this match could have a little backstory.
The Wolves- This Last Stand Tour needs a little shot of caffeine. I would like to see both Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards get one on one matches with Kurt. I believe these are the freshest and best matches you will get from Kurt. There could even be a little competition among the Wolves.
Eli Drake- So far, Drake is untested in what he is capable of in the ring. He is clearly good enough on the mic but he needs to showcase what he is capable of as a wrestler. The arrogant, Eli Drake could challenge Angle in one of the matches. He doesn't even have to win as a strong showing would elevate him.
Bobby Roode- While these two have battled numerous times in the past including at Bound for Glory, letting these two go at it once more would be a great motivator for the It Factor.
Austin Aries- Yes, I know he isn't with TNA. I still believe Aries could return to TNA in 2016. Using a match against Kurt Angle is a perfect incentive for that. These men fought at Destination X and delivered a contender for Match of the Year. Could they do it again?
Lashley- Angle vs Lashley was the fight I was looking forward to in 2015. I believe they rushed into it too quick. They could have built both men up into an epic confrontation. With that said, what we got from these two was excellent. Angle beat Lashley cleanly the first time. The follow-up was a little more controversial. I would like to see these guys go at it once more.
Jeff Hardy- This is the biggest match I could see happening. Jeff Hardy vs Angle has happened before and it has main-evented shows. I couldn't tell you if Hardy would be healthy enough but this match would have to happen in Bethlehem since Jeff can't go to the UK.
What matches do you want to see TNA deliver before they go?
