EC3 and Drew Galloway had a short confrontation to hype their World Title match at Bound For Glory. Dixie also criticized EC3 for not defending TNA against GFW recently, but nothing significant. Solid promo to start the show. Both guys played their characters perfectly and showed some good animosity heading into the PPV. Despite the lackluster buildup, I'm expecting a fun main event this Sunday.
Mahabali Shera defeated James Storm in a No DQ match after Abyss and Manik turned on Storm. During the match, the announcers mentioned that the Ultimate X match at BFG will be Tigre Uno vs. DJ Z vs. Manik vs. Andrew Everett for the X Division Title. There you have it, the Revolution is finally over. The ending was pretty cool as Abyss, Manik and Shera hit their finishing moves on Storm after all the abuse they took for the past year.
Dixie Carter announced that Matt Hardy will be added to the World Title match at BFG if he and Drew Galloway beat EC3 and Tyrus. She also promised another announcement later tonight. Eh, that was underwhelming. EC3/Galloway was fine the way it was - adding Matt doesn't enhance it other than the obvious North Carolina pop. I just hope this doesn't mean that Matt will actually win the title in his home state with Jeff as the guest referee.
Bobby Roode cut a promo about being the King of the Mountain champion and issued an open challenge for anyone to face him at BFG. Lashley answered the challenge as both guys put over their skills. Roode/Lashley should be awesome. Both guys have unfinished business from January 7th, plus they're fighting for a purpose to establish the KOTM Title. Looking forward to the real rubber match between these two at BFG.
Trevor Lee defeated DJ Z and Tommaso Ciampa in a triple threat match when Trevor pinned DJ Z with a flipping splash. Fun match. While Ciampa didn't stand out like maybe he should have, Trevor looked phenomenal out there. TNA needs to keep rotating new talent and creating fresh match-ups for the X Division. It's that simple.
There was a pretape with Brooke talking about her Knockouts Title loss to Gail Kim. Brooke said she's going to train hard and come back stronger than ever. Well, I guess this ends the speculation that Brooke is unhappy in TNA. This whole comeback storyline is kinda lame. I want to see a more edgier Brooke without the happy rainbows and whatnot.
Jade, Marti and Rebel defeated Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne in a handicap match. Marti pinned Madison after Rebel threw powder in Madison's eyes. Decent match. It's a shame that Angelina wasn't in this match because she's pregnant, but the other girls did a nice job selling the feud. Madison and Jade looked good.
Eric Young was ranting about his loss in the lumberjack match last week. Robbie E, Chris Melendez and Mr. Anderson interrupted and beat the crap out of EY to end the segment. I don't know, was that really necessary? I feel like they could have accomplished the same thing in a backstage pretape. That being said, I liked the continuity of the TNA guys getting their revenge for EY's antics. But no more EY/Melendez, please.
Drew Galloway and Matt Hardy defeated EC3 and Tyrus when Galloway pinned Tyrus. As a result, EC3 will defend his title against Galloway and Hardy in a triple threat match. Dixie announced Jeff Hardy as the guest referee for the main event at BFG. Well, if there was ever a time for EC3 to be in #GodMode, this is it. The main event seems a little more unpredictable now, so that should be interesting.
Overall, this was a decent show. I give TNA credit for trying to sell the PPV as hard as they could. They made a few noteworthy announcements and added some exciting elements to the card, such as Roode/Lashley and a debuting Andrew Everett. If nothing else, BFG should be a fun PPV with lots of action at a different venue. Lay back and enjoy the show!
