Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett had a contract signing for the Lethal Lockdown match. They talked about their history and put over their companies. Jeff Jarrett nailed Jeremy Borash before leaving with Karen. Wow, that was so surreal. Every detail of this segment felt genuine. Their individual promos put it into perspective just how important it is to win tonight. This really is the end of an era for either Dixie or Jeff. Well done.
Mahabali Shera defeated Abyss following some miscommunication between Abyss and James Storm. Eh, it was a decent match to progress the story. Shera is gaining momentum for his showdown with Storm while the Revolution is falling apart. Pretty straightforward.
EC3 brought out Jeff Hardy, who was dressed in an "EC3 suit". Rockstar Spud defended Jeff's honor before Tyrus beat him up. Jeff reluctantly hit Spud on EC3's orders. Nice continuity with Spud relating to Jeff's situation. I like how this is building sympathy for Jeff while EC3 flaunts his wealth and power. Simple storytelling at its finest.
Gail Kim defeated Brooke, Awesome Kong and Lei'D Tapa in a fatal four way to win the Knockouts Championship. Good match with lots of action and fun spots. All four ladies had their moments and looked like they could have won at any time. It sucks that Brooke had such a forgettable title reign, but Gail has been on a roll since she turned into a ninja, so at least it makes sense.
Drew Galloway, Lashley, Bram and The Wolves defeated Jeff Jarrett, Eric Young, Chris Mordetzky, Brian Myers and Sonjay Dutt in a Lethal Lockdown match for control of TNA. Fun match. The highlight was seeing Team TNA beat the crap out of Jarrett five-on-one. Great moment for TNA as the wrestlers and Dixie had a huge celebration with the fans. Drew Galloway, in particular, carried the spirit of TNA as its top face. Good stuff.
Overall, I enjoyed tonight's show. I liked the focus on TNA vs. GFW throughout the night, from the opening promo to the video packages to the main event. We also got another entertaining EC3/Hardy segment, a Knockouts title change and a decent big man match. Now that GFW is out of the picture, we can finally look ahead to Bound For Glory in a few weeks (hopefully with marquee matches).
