Jeff Jarrett talked about the main event, but EC3 boycotted the match. Jarrett ordered EC3 to defend the title or he'll be stripped. Simple promo to set up the main event. EC3 was entertaining as he played off Jarrett's authority and put over TNA as "the house that the Carters built." Should be a great match between EC3 and PJ Black for the TNA title.
Mr. Anderson defeated Bram in an Open Mic challenge. Fun match. They did some cool spots with a table, a ladder and a dozen chairs. The microphone gimmick wasn't a big deal, but it made sense for Anderson to get his revenge in the end. It was a decent short-term program for both guys, so I have no complaints.
James Storm called out Mahabali Shera for a face to face confrontation. Shera said he loves to dance and then attacked Storm. The Revolution laid out Shera, although Manik was initially hesitant to hit the frog splash. The Shera dance is weird, but at least the Revolution story is coming to an end. Not sure what to think about Shera as this fun-loving character. Storm does a good job in his role, so I'm keeping an open mind about this feud.
Gail Kim defeated Jade and Marti in a handicap steel cage match when Gail pinned Marti with the Eat Defeat. Wow, Gail put on a terrific performance. It was a good match with the usual double team and babyface comeback for the win. I'm looking forward to an eventual one on one clash between Gail and Taryn, hopefully at BFG in a violent gimmick.
Drew Galloway defeated Eli Drake in a No DQ match. Nice mix of wrestling and brawling. The finish through the table was awesome and the crowd was into it as well. I would like to see more from these guys, but it looks like this is it as Drew got his payback in a brutal match. Eli Drake made a great impression in this feud.
Chris Melendez challenged Eric Young to a rematch, but EY would only accept if Melendez put his leg on the line. Melendez agreed and cleared EY out of the ring. Man, this is such a weird stipulation. Two guys fighting over a prosthetic leg?! The stakes just got higher for Melendez to beat this lunatic. EY is a damn good heel.
Matt Hardy defeated Tyrus with the Twist of Fate. Eh, it was an okay match. Matt's victory was predictable as he builds to his rematch with EC3 for the World Title. Although Tyrus is pretty boring in the ring, at least he serves his purpose against EC3's enemies.
EC3 defeated PJ Black to retain the World Title. Good competitive match. EC3 looked impressive against a game challenger. PJ has a dynamic style that is fun to watch. I'm enjoying the different matchups we're getting out of this GFW partnership so far.
Overall, this was a good show. There were some fun gimmick matches capped off by an entertaining champion vs. champion main event. The promos were solid too. I didn't sense a "turning point" to be honest, but the product has been pretty consistent for the most part. I just hope there's a little more buzz in the coming weeks.
